Inkers Allstars

There is a really nice article about me and Jan Kustfält on the new site Inkers Allstars.
“Inkers Allstars” are a bunch of some of the best Swedish cartoonists. People like Max Gustafson, Nickan Jonasson, Jonas Darnell, Malin Biller, Alf Woxnerud and Jimmy Wallin. If you are not Scandinavian you have probably newer heard of any of them, but let me tell you that’s a pretty strong line up!
It is of course a huge honor for me and Jan to be the first “guest inkers” on the new page and we are really happy about it. Nickan who wrote the article are Swedish just like me and Jan so just like everything on our page www.biffzongo.com it’s in Swenglish.

March 2009 I was asked to do a guest comic for the very popular "Anders Loves Maria". I created a little blue fellow and named him Biff Zongo (he was basically the same character as my Swedish comic Frank who I had drawn for many years).

A lot of people contacted me and I promised to make a website with Biff Zongo comics soon after…

Well stuff fucked up.… I did not have the time or energy to finish project And NOTHING happened for way over a year.

A couple of weeks ago I ran in to an old friend of mine the cartoonist Jan Kustfält. He asked if he could draw my scripts instead. He needed scripts and I needed an illustrator… It was a match made in heaven you could say.

The official premiere is in a couple of days, but the site is already up!

Två av mina absoluta favoriter när det gäller urbana legender/internet hoaxes är "Hippo Eats Dwarf" och "The Cambodian Midget Fighting League". Som vanligt när det gäller riktigt bra historier så hakade även massmedier på.

Vad var det för kriminalteknisk undersökning som polisen skulle göra på trampolinen? Misstänkte de att den var riggad? Att det var ett snyggt planerat mord? Vad var det för spektakulärt cirkusnummer som flodhästen väntade på att utföra? Hoppa genom brinnande ringar? En liten cykeltur? Dvärgsväljning från trampolin?

"The Cambodian Midget Fighting League"
Wikipedia: The article was reported as a tragedy at a midget-versus-lion fight in Cambodia. A fan of the Cambodian Midget Fighting League challenged the league's president in response to a recent league advertising campaign that the midgets will "take on anything; man, beast, or machine". The fan claimed that one lion could defeat the entire league of forty-two midget fighters. Accepting the challenge, an African lion was flown to Kampong Chhnang especially for the event.

"The fight was called off after only 12 minutes and 28 of the fighters were declared dead, while the other 14 suffered severe injuries including broken bones and lost limbs, rendering them unable to fight back."

Behöver jag säga att båda historierna bara är påhitt?
Den första dök upp redan i mitten av nittiotalet och den andra tio år senare.
Jag tror inte att historierna hade funkat om det var "The Berlin Midget Fighting League" eller om "Hippo Eats Dwarf" hade utspelats sig i Sundsvall. Det finns ett tydligt inslag av fördomar mot andra exotiska kulturers djurhållning och inställning till dvärgar, men jag antar att det är en del av den lite konstiga charmen.
